Christmas decor trends 2026 — and what to order for 2027

The numbers from Yiwu

• Yiwu exported ¥4.75 billion of Christmas goods in January–August 2026, up 10.9% year on year (Yiwu Customs, reported by Xinhua on 4 October).
• First-half exports were ¥2.14 billion, up 20.4% — growth came early in the year (Global Times, July).
• Buyers keep ordering earlier: European buyers who used to order June–August started right after Spring Festival this year. Main markets named by manufacturers: Latin America, Europe, Russia and Central Asia, with India and Africa growing (Global Times).
• Manufacturers are launching more new designs — one apparel-and-gift factory released 400+ in a season using AI design tools (Global Times).

Colours

Classic red is back: cherry red and red-and-white sets are expected to be reliable sellers for mass-market retail. Around it: burgundy with hunter green, champagne gold, teal and deep green as an updated alternative to red-and-green, and icy blue with soft white.

Materials and finishes

Velvet, flocking, faux fur and bouclé add texture; natural and FSC-certified wood suits the eco-minded shopper. On TikTok, velvet ball garlands in red and burgundy and “Grandma core”, “New Vintage” and “Gingerbread Cottage” tree themes drew attention.

• Sets over singles. Single ornaments still sell, but curated sets are stronger.
• Bows and bell sets, nutcrackers, snow globes and gnomes.
• Light and motion: LED ornaments, light-up villages, animated Santas; pre-lit wreaths and garlands; realistic artificial trees with flame-retardant materials.
• Small gadgets spike from November into December: mini projectors, LED strip lights and smart string lights.
